I felt really relaxed before the start of the race. The event was small and low-key, so I didn’t have to race and it was slow and winding course.

The whole Vorsprung group worked together to get a good start and away from the small pack putting us ahead on the bumpy surface.

I wanted to drag fellow Vorsprung runners, Euros and Ed along, so I kept at the front, at a steady pace.

I managed the tight bends and the slight uphills well and then increased my lead a bit when I had a safe straight road on the promenade. I cruised into the finish comfortably and I finished in 4:50s.

It was couple of seconds slower than I thought I might do, but, now I know what the course is like, I think I could get a decent time if I let myself go the whole way.
